Birth Doula -The term Doula is derived from the Greek word “δούλα” meaning “woman who serves.”

DONA International defines a Birth Doula as...

“A trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional, and informational support to a mother before, during, and shortly after childbirth to help her achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible.”

What can I offer you?

As your Birth Doula, I will offer you support prior to your birth, during your labor & delivery and postpartum care. I will provide emotional and physical encouragement, education, resources and family and partner support.

My role is to listen, provide comfort, and be an advocate for the birthing parent. This will look different for each family. So, it’s very important that we get to know each other and create a brave and safe relationship that fosters trust and communication.

FORMS OF

SUPPORT

EMOTIONAL

SUPPORT

Support from your Doula is offered in many different ways. Listening to the birthing parent's needs, their fears, wants and their birthing plan, all while doing everything that I can to ease and aid in the process. Alongside the partner, Doulas are the biggest advocates for the birthing parent. I am there to offer a helping hand and a compassionate heart. To listen, to feel and to love.

PHYSICAL

SUPPORT

It is no secret that the birthing process is very physically demanding on the birthing parent. As a Doula I am there to help and assist in moving though this experience. Doulas are trained to help birthing parents work through the pains of labor using techniques such as massaging, changing labor positions, breath-work, the birthing ball and the Rebozo.

PARTNER & FAMILY SUPPORT

A Birth Doula is not just there to support the birthing parent. It is our job to support everyone in the family and everyone present at the birth.

Knowing that the Doula is there to provide constant support, often times partners and family members feel more comfortable taking breaks, eating food, or spending time with other children, knowing that the birthing parent is cared for. This also allows for partners and families to focus on providing love and affection, knowing that the birthing parent's needs are being met. As a Doula, I am there to host and hold space for everyone.

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL

"We are so grateful to have found Taylor a couple months before we had our baby.

Taylor jumped in right away to offer support in a variety of ways...emotional, mental and physical. She knows how to listen deeply and in doing so she keeps the focus on the person speaking. She doesn't fill the space with empty words and knows how to remain present non-verbally.

Taylor possesses a depth and level of intuition that allows her to connect deeply with others, feel the situation, and she held space for me in a way that I needed. I am so grateful and appreciative of my time with Taylor."
